Homemade Spanish Seasoning

I don’t know about you, but I love cooking, especially with my homemade Spanish seasoning that is the perfect additive to any dish. Chicken, Pork, Steak oh my! It’s a great all-around seasoning and can be used on almost anything. Ok maybe not with cakes or cupcakes but you get my point.

Start off my grabbing an extra spice container to put this in, preferably with the sifter top or if no sifter top, be sure you have enough opening to add a small measuring spoon in there to grab and then sprinkle this yummy goodness over the item you’re seasoning.

Secondly, grab your measuring spoons, we will need the tablespoon and teaspoon.

Recipe:

  • 2 tsp. of Cumin
  • 2 tsp. Ground Corriander
  • 2 tsp. Dried Cilantro
  • 2 tsp. Onion Powder
  • 2 tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 2 tsp. Oregano
  • 1 tbsp. Ground Annatto (this is what gives it the orangey color)
  • 1 tsp. Salt (optional)

If you have all the ingredients including the annatto is in powder form, you can put all these into your jar and shake till it’s all mixed. If you have a grinder and the annatto is in seed form, ground it down into a powder then add it to the mixture.

1 tbsp. of your seasoning is the equivalent to 1 packet of the well-known brand. This can be doubled over and over again. Season on!
